The Philosophy Man approached me to renovate their logo for them, and I gladly accepted having worked with them many times before in the past. They wanted to keep the same style as their existing logo, but give it a refresh.
The Daily Jaws is a fanpage dedicated to the Spielberg classic Jaws. I'm fortunate enough to work closely with them on their art direction, and they're a great bunch of people to work with. We spent the day down at East London Printmakers trying to create some prototype clothing and posters. Here's the outcome.
First up we tried to print the jackets. We used military surplus as we wanted to breathe some life into these old worn garments. We dyed them blue, and were going to print on them in white and red to match the Jaws colours.
Linoleum is a wonderful surface to cut. It is smooth and fairly soft, compared to Woodcuts, and can create beautifully smooth prints. However, there are a few tips to consider to make sure you get the results you want without exerting yourself too much.
Starting out with Lino Printing or any form of Relief Printmaking can be difficult because it requires good tools to make sure you get the outcome you are after.
